SpellCubes

Solve puzzles by assembling lettered cubes, thus spelling words that unleash various spells.

To trigger the spells, you have to get the cubes forming the word of the effect you want to touch in a line, the direction does not matter. The effect of the spells affect the nearby objects (really not far, there is a way to boost the distance but it's not really relevant in the poor little level available yet...)

The first clue in game is misleading! The message is on a closed door, but it's not obvious it's on a door, and I should have put "A Red Carpet is not Enough" instead of just "Red Carpet"...

For a reason I can't recall, I thought it would be a good idea to make float some cubes you absolutely need for progressing in the early puzzle solving, without giving the mean to make them be subject to gravity again... And manipulating floating cubes is, to say the least, difficult!

Controls:
Classic keyboard and mouse fps:
WASD to move, mouse to look around, left mouse button to firmly grab things, right mouse button to loosely grab them, mouse wheel to change the distance of objects grabbed, spacebar to jump.
Esc to quit game.
Alternate gamepad controls (but I could not test them much...):
Left stick to move, right stick to look around, up-left trigger to firmly grab, up-right trigger to loosely grab, and down triggers to change the distance, down button to jump.

Game made during the GMTK Gamejam 2024 (16-20 august).

Due to time shortage, the level design was left at early stage, with only half of the intended puzzles implemented, but I think the idea behind the project is visible... I hope you will enjoy playing this unfinished game, as much as I had fun making it!
